Canoeing in the Luberon
During the summer heat in the Luberon, a canoe-kayak descent is a must! What better way to cool off while engaging in outdoor activities…
Two watercourses are suitable in Luberon: the Durance and the Sorgue.
Stretching 324km, the Durance is the most significant river in Provence. To dip in or navigate with your canoe, you’ll need to head to the south side of Luberon. Two courses are offered by AFDA Canoe: an 8km route suitable for families and those who want to take the time to enjoy the fauna, flora, and landscapes, and an 18km, more challenging route that will thrill adventure seekers.
The Sorgue, on the other hand, is an unusual river with a rich historical, ecological, and landscape diversity. You can explore it with two providers offering guided tours from Fontaine de Vaucluse to L’isle sur la Sorgue. Here, refreshment is guaranteed with water temperatures around 13 degrees, even in summer!
In any case, these water adventures will allow you to experience Luberon in a different way and will not leave you indifferent!
